Iran's Acting Foreign Minister (FM) Ali Bagheri asserted that the Israeli occupation crossed a significant red line for the Islamic Republic of Iran by assassinating Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas' political bureau, on its soil. He emphasized that Iran's response to this crime will be decisive.
According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Sunday, Bagheri made these remarks during a phone call with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, regarding the criminal act committed by the Israeli occupation.
Bagheri stated that this action would result in two outcomes: firstly, Iran's firm response to this crime, and secondly, the destabilization of security and escalation of the crisis in the region. He noted that Islamic countries and the region must not remain silent in the face of this.
Iranian Minister proposed to Ishaq Dar the idea of holding an extraordinary meeting of Islamic countries and requested Pakistan's support for this initiative.
In response, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister condemned the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran as a blatant violation of international law and Iranian sovereignty. He welcomed the proposal for an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
