Scientists in Iran have made strides in textile innovation with the creation of a nanotechnology‑enhanced polyester fabric designed to significantly reduce the risk of microbial contamination, TV BRICS reported. 

By integrating nano‑scale materials with traditional polyester fibers, the new fabric exhibits enhanced antimicrobial properties that can prevent the survival and spread of bacteria on its surface. This breakthrough aims to improve hygiene and safety, particularly in environments where textile contamination poses a public health concern, such as in hospitals, public transport, and workplace uniforms. 

Experts say that innovations like this could play a crucial role in reducing infection rates and improving overall sanitation standards, especially in settings where textiles come into frequent contact with multiple users.
