Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will head to Armenia and Belarus on Monday for a two-day visit, followed by a trip to China later this month to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
Mehdi Sanaei, President’s political advisor, stated that the visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Iran and the two countries, particularly in the trade sector, as well as to sign a series of joint agreements, according to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency.
He added that the trip was initially planned for late June but was postponed until now.
Sanaei also confirmed that President Pezeshkian has received an invitation to attend the SCO summit in China at the end of August.
The 25th annual summit of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO member countries will be held in Tianjin, China, on August 31 and September 1.
