Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday called for an immediate ceasefire in Yemen and the dispatch of humanitarian aid.

Rouhani underlined the importance of launching a dialogue between the Yemenis as a final solution to bring security and stability to the country, according to the Russia Today (RT) website.

Earlier today, the Treasury Department said that the U.S. has formally removed the Houthi group from the list of global terrorist entities in implementation of the State Department's decision.

Moreover, U.S. Department of State urged on Tuesday Yemen’s Houthi rebel group to stop the advance towards Ma’rib, cease all military operations, and return to negotiations.

In a statement, State Department spokesman Ned Price called on Houthis to constructively participate in the United Nations-led political process and to engage seriously with the newly-appointed U.S. special envoy for Yemen Timothy Lenderking.
