Mahmoud Vaezi, Director of the Office of the Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, confirmed that "Tehran has received letters from Washington through European countries and the Swiss embassy there in Tehran."

Vaezi pointed out that "there were no direct or indirect negotiations with Washington."

He noted  that "Iran has no intention of holding negotiations at the present time."

He said, "We have not conducted any bilateral negotiations with America since Joe Biden took office, and what is going on about that is not true."

For his part, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that "the conditions today are ripe for defeating sanctions," explaining that "the Biden administration has recognized the failure of the maximum pressure policy."

Rouhani added that "Iran is awaiting practical steps from the Biden administration, and it will not be satisfied with words," describing the work to delay the lifting of sanctions at home as "betrayal."

On the other hand, American intelligence accused the Iranian authorities of trying to interfere in the US presidential elections, as commissioned by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, with the aim of preventing Donald Trump's re-election.

The report, published by the Office of the US Director of National Intelligence, said Iran had launched a "multi-faceted covert campaign" aimed at "undermining" Trump's chances for re-election, as well as "eroding " society's confidence in the American election process and institutions.

The intelligence considered that Iran was seeking, through these actions, to "sow discord and inflame social tensions" in the United States of America (USA).

American intelligence concluded that these actions were carried out by Iranian intelligence and the military, on the authority of the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The American intelligence report also included accusations against Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela, and the Lebanese "Hezbollah" of interfering in the elections, but it was claimed that Russia and Iran were the ones who made an effort.
