Air raid sirens sounded across Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and several other areas early Wednesday after Iran launched multiple missile barrages toward Israel, triggering explosions in the skies over the country.

According to Israeli reports, sirens were activated several times during the early morning hours as missiles were detected heading toward central Israel, including the greater Tel Aviv area.

Explosions were heard as Israeli air defense systems attempted to intercept the incoming projectiles.

Local reports said one missile fell in the city of Bnei Brak, a suburb of Tel Aviv. Later in the morning, Israeli air defense systems announced they had intercepted another missile launched from Iran around 11 a.m.

The attacks came after a day of intense military developments, including coordinated strikes attributed to Iran and Hezbollah from southern Lebanon, which triggered air raid sirens across hundreds of Israeli towns and communities from the north to the south.

Meanwhile, drones were reported flying over several areas in northern Israel, particularly near the border with Lebanon, including Kiryat Shmona, Metula and nearby settlements.

The ongoing exchange of missile and drone attacks has heightened fears of a broader regional escalation involving Iran, Israel and allied armed groups.
