A wave of Iranian missile attacks struck central Israel early Wednesday, triggering loud explosions over Jerusalem as air defense systems attempted to intercept incoming projectiles, according to Israeli media reports.

The explosions, heard across the city, were attributed to mid-air interceptions during what appears to be a renewed escalation between Iran and Israel. The developments were first reported by Israeli outlets and carried by regional media.

Emergency response teams, including paramedics and firefighters, were deployed to at least four sites in central Israel after reports of falling missile debris. Israel’s public broadcaster said fragments from intercepted missiles landed in multiple locations, raising concerns about potential damage and civilian safety.

In Tel Aviv, Israeli media reported significant damage and a fire at a railway station following two missile strikes. Initial reports indicated structural damage, with emergency crews working to contain the blaze and assess the situation.

Meanwhile, in the city of Holon, authorities reported extensive damage in residential and surrounding areas after another missile strike. The full extent of the destruction, as well as any casualties, remains unclear.

The attacks mark a sharp escalation in direct hostilities between Iran and Israel, with missiles reaching key urban centers despite air defense systems. Israeli authorities have yet to release official figures on casualties or the overall scale of damage.
