Iranian Foreign Minister (FM) Abbas Araghchi confirmed that recent Israeli strikes targeting fuel depots in the capital, Tehran, constitute a crime of "eco-cide" (environmental genocide).
Araghchi explained in his statements that targeting these vital facilities transcends a mere military assault, reaching the level of an organized environmental catastrophe.
The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that the population is currently facing severe health risks that will persist for many years as a result of these attacks.
He pointed out that soil contamination and the degradation of groundwater caused by the explosion and combustion of fuel depots will leave lasting negative impacts. He further stressed that the repercussions of this disaster could be felt by future generations.
