Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani issued a stern warning to Israel on Sunday, cautioning against any new "risk" in Lebanon related to the recent incident in the Golan Heights.
In a statement, Kanaani said, "After ten months of mass killings in Gaza and the massacre of Palestinian children and women, the Israeli apartheid regime is promoting a fictitious scenario to divert the public and global attention from its serious crimes in Palestine."
He emphasized that any risky actions by Israel "could lead to further instability, insecurity, and war in the region."
A rocket hit a football field in the village of Majdal Shams in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, killing 12 people on Saturday. Israel accused Lebanon's Hezbollah of carrying out the attack, a claim that Hezbollah has denied.
