Iran and the United States have launched the first round of nuclear negotiations in Muscat, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced, marking a renewed diplomatic effort to address Tehran’s nuclear program.
Iranian media reported that the talks are strictly limited to the nuclear file, with no discussions planned on Iran’s defensive or military capabilities. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reportedly conveyed Tehran’s readiness to defend the country against any threats, while emphasizing diplomacy as the primary means of safeguarding Iran’s national interests.
Oman’s foreign minister expressed hope that the negotiations would pave the way for a lasting understanding between Washington and Tehran, as international attention remains focused on the outcome of the talks amid heightened regional tensions.
