Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology Issa Zarepour announced that his country, which is among the ten countries capable of building and launching satellites worldwide, will help Syria build communications satellites.
Zarepour, who accompanied Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi on his visit to Syria last Wednesday and Thursday, said in a statement to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) published on Saturday that "a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Syrian side in the field of communications."
He added that good agreements were reached to increase the export of products in the field of communications, and for the participation of Iranian private companies to provide the infrastructure that Syria needs and issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed.
Referring to the details of the cooperation, the minister explained that it includes "providing the space data that we have to make the satellites that Syria needs, as Iran is among the ten countries that have the ability to build and launch satellites in the world.
Zarepour highlighted that good agreements have been concluded in the field of designing digital services and making available the experiences of Iran in line with the design of electronic and smart government.
