Iran launched a missile and drone attack early Monday targeting a US helicopter base in Kuwait, according to statements from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The IRGC said its naval forces carried out the strike on the Al-Udeiri helicopter base using cruise missiles and kamikaze drones.
Iranian state media reported that the attack was conducted by the naval arm of the IRGC, an elite branch of Iran’s armed forces.
The targeted facility is used by US military forces operating in Kuwait as part of regional operations in the Middle East.
Officials did not immediately provide details about casualties or damage following the strike.
The incident marks another escalation in tensions between Iran and the United States as the conflict in the region continues to intensify.
