The Iranian government said Wednesday that its defensive forces are on full alert for any emergency, stressing that military preparedness is proceeding alongside diplomatic efforts to safeguard national interests and security.

Iranian officials said Tehran is simultaneously pursuing negotiations while maintaining a high level of defense readiness to protect the country’s national security.

“The path of negotiations and defense preparedness are being followed in parallel to safeguard our interests and national security,” the government said.

Authorities added that they rely on both “war and negotiations” as strategic options to protect the country and preserve national security, signaling a dual-track approach amid heightened regional tensions.

Separately, the commander of the Iranian Navy said missiles serve as a deterrent weapon against adversaries, underlining the country’s military capabilities. He also warned that the presence of a trans-regional fleet in West Asia is “unjustified” and would be confronted with greater force.

The remarks come at a time of increased geopolitical strain in the region, as diplomatic efforts continue alongside military posturing by various actors. Tehran has repeatedly emphasized that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence while remaining open to negotiations.
