Asenior Iranian lawmaker accused the United States on Monday of seeking to strip the Iranian people of their defensive capabilities, while rejecting any negotiations over the country’s missile program.
The deputy head of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said: “The United States is trying to take away all defensive tools from the Iranian people. We will not accept any negotiations regarding our missile capabilities.”
The comments came as the British government announced the addition of 71 new designations to its sanctions regime on Iran, citing concerns over Tehran’s nuclear program.
The new measures are part of broader Western efforts to tighten restrictions on Iran amid stalled nuclear talks and ongoing disputes over its ballistic missile activities.
