Media reports in Iran revealed that Vice President Ishaq Jahangiri has been infected with Corona virus and is undergoing treatment.

'Iran Wire' news website reported this morning that "an informed source" revealed that matter while there has been no confirmation of it from Iranian officials yet.

Several Iranian officials were infected with the Corona virus, and a senior official died on Monday after being infected.

The news comes as authorities report 92 deaths and 2922 cases of infection.

Meanwhile, President Hassan Rohani stated that the virus had hit almost all regions of the country.

Earlier, Iran has announced plans to mobilize 300,000 soldiers and volunteers against the deadliest outbreak of the coronavirus outside China, as state television quoted an MP saying 23 members of parliament were infected.

On Tuesday, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the country’s supreme leader, ordered the country’s armed forces to help health officials combat the outbreak.

“Whatever helps public health and prevents the spread of the disease is good and what helps to spread it is sin,” Khamenei said, as the deputy health minister, Alireza Raeisi, reported more infections.

More than 90,000 people are infected worldwide – with 3,100 deaths. At least 70 countries are affected – the latest to report cases – Morocco and Ukraine.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has described this as ‘uncharted territory’ – as nations rush to contain the spread of the virus – as well as containing public fears.

On another hand, as the threat of the coronavirus escalates throughout the world, Warren Wilde, Director, Franklin County Emergency Management, counsels: “First, Do not panic!” No cases have been identified in Idaho or surrounding states, except Oregon and Washington. World Health Officials are split over whether they think the virus will spread into a pandemic or not.
