Iran has partially reopened its airspace to international transit flights, allowing aircraft to pass through eastern corridors after recent disruptions to regional aviation.
The country’s civil aviation authority confirmed that air routes over eastern Iran are now open to international overflights. Several airports have also resumed operations, reopening early in the morning local time.
Despite the announcement, flight-tracking data showed little immediate traffic using Iranian airspace, with many international airlines continuing to avoid the region and opting for longer alternative routes.
The cautious response reflects ongoing security concerns, as airlines assess the safety of resuming operations through Iranian airspace.
The partial reopening marks a step toward restoring normal air travel flows in the region, following disruptions caused by heightened geopolitical tensions.
