Iran has expressed its readiness to help facilitate dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Yemen's Houthi movement, saying diplomacy remains the only viable path to resolving the long-running conflict.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi noted that Tehran is prepared to play a "constructive" role if negotiations begin between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis, formally known as Ansar Allah.
"We have declared our readiness to play a constructive role, and our friends in Saudi Arabia are aware of this," Araghchi said in an interview with the Iran newspaper. "If negotiations begin between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, Iran could play a positive and constructive role in the process."
The comments underscore Tehran's support for a diplomatic solution to the conflict, which has fuelled years of regional instability and humanitarian challenges in Yemen.
Relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia have improved since the two regional powers restored diplomatic ties in 2023, raising hopes that renewed dialogue could contribute to broader efforts to ease tensions across the Middle East.
