Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Saturday the launch of the 28th wave of its ongoing military campaign dubbed “True Promise 4,” saying the latest attacks targeted key locations inside Israel using advanced-generation missiles.
In a statement, the IRGC said the strikes were directed toward the cities of Tel Aviv and Beersheba, describing the weapons used in the operation as “modern-generation missiles.” The announcement comes amid a continuing escalation between Iran and Israel following days of cross-border attacks and retaliatory strikes.
The Iranian military body did not provide further details on the number of missiles launched or the extent of damage resulting from the attacks. Israeli authorities have not immediately issued an official response regarding the reported strikes at the time of publication.
Separately, the IRGC said Iranian air defense systems had intercepted and shot down an Israeli Hermes 900 drone in western Iran. The Hermes 900 is an unmanned aerial vehicle commonly used by Israel for surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
Tensions between Iran and Israel have sharply escalated in recent days, with both sides exchanging missile strikes and military threats, raising concerns about a broader regional confrontation in the Middle East.
The situation remains fluid as military developments continue to unfold across the region.
