Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Iran's Foreign Minister, said Tehran is open to a good accord in Vienna, Austria, where Iranian and P4+1 negotiators are attempting to resurrect the 2015 deal.
In a phone call with Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne on Tuesday, Amir Abdollahian made the remarks. The senior Australian ambassador stated that her country supports the Vienna talks.
Amir Abdollahian also expressed Tehran's willingness to enhance bilateral cooperation in various domains, including commerce, investment, and scientific exchanges, while alluding to bilateral relations' capacities.
He cited the creation of the Iranian-Australian Spikogen coronavirus vaccine as an example of successful collaborative efforts.
Amir Abdollahian has urged Canberra to pay special attention to the rights of Iranians in Australia, particularly the consular status of some Iranian inpiduals who are experiencing difficulties in the country.
The Iranian foreign minister, speaking on Iran's role in the region's battle against terrorism, urged Australia to deal properly with active members of terrorist groups in her country.
The situation in Afghanistan was also discussed by the two top diplomats. Referring to the hardship of Afghan refugees and the daily presence of thousands of Afghans in Iran's border provinces, the top Tehran's diplomat emphasised the importance of international attention to the refugee issue and the development of an inclusive Afghan government.
Marise Payne expressed the expectation that the two countries will collaborate closely on Afghanistan in order to persuade the Taliban to keep their promises and ensure that Afghanistan does not become a safe haven for terrorists and transnational criminals.
