The Iranian judiciary announced on Wednesday the execution of a man convicted of espionage for the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad. The individual, whose identity was not fully disclosed, was found guilty of providing sensitive information to foreign intelligence services.

According to Mizan, the official news agency of the Iranian judiciary, the convict held a position within a civil defense unit of a high-priority national organization. Authorities stated that he exploited his official capacity and access to gather classified data, which he then transmitted to Mossad operatives.

The Iranian Supreme Court upheld the death sentence following a series of legal proceedings and appeals. The execution was carried out on Wednesday morning after the final verdict was confirmed.

This case highlights the ongoing "shadow war" between Iran and Israel. Tehran has frequently announced the arrest and execution of individuals accused of working for Western and Israeli intelligence agencies, particularly those suspected of targeting Iran’s military, nuclear, and civil infrastructure.

The judiciary's statement emphasized that Iranian security agencies remain "vigilant" against attempts by foreign entities to infiltrate sensitive state organizations.
