Iranian authorities have announced the arrest of 500 individuals accused of leaking sensitive information to "hostile entities." The mass arrests, revealed by Iranian Police Chief Ahmad Reza Radan, occur during a period of intense military activity, including reported U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on targets within Iranian borders.

According to Chief Radan, approximately half of the cases are classified as "critical security incidents." The accused are alleged to have provided precise geographical coordinates used to target specific sites, as well as filming the aftermath of airstrikes to transmit the footage to foreign intelligence agencies.

Nationwide Security Campaign

The crackdown is not limited to the capital. Reports from the Tasnim News Agency indicate that 20 individuals were detained in northwestern Iran for allegedly sending details regarding military and security assets to Israel. In the northeast, another ten individuals were taken into custody for gathering intelligence on sensitive economic infrastructure.

The Intelligence branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has accused the United States and Israel of deploying "mercenaries and spies" to incite internal instability and civil unrest as a secondary phase of their military strategy.

Strategic Intelligence Shifts

This wave of arrests follows reports suggesting a shift in Israeli military strategy. Sources indicated last week that the focus has moved toward targeting security checkpoints and internal logistical hubs, allegedly relying on high-level intelligence gathered by informants on the ground.

As regional tensions reach a boiling point, these arrests signal Tehran's intensifying efforts to secure its internal front and neutralize perceived "fifth column" activities that could compromise its defensive capabilities.
