Iran Takes Revenge on US, Launches Missiles in Iraq (Video)

The Revolutionary Guards Corps of Iran said on Wednesday that they attacked Iraq's Al Asad Airbase, which hosts American troops, with dozens of ballistic missiles.

US media confirmed that the airbase, located in western Iraq, is being under attack. No reports about casualties.

CNN quoted a Sunni commander of a paramilitary forces in Iraq that at least 10 rockets hit the airbase.

The White House has already released a statement about the Iranian attack saying that US President Donald Trump is monitoring the situation.

Meantime, the Pentagon said in a statement: "It is clear that these missiles were launched from Iran and targeted at least two Iraqi military bases hosting U.S. military and coalition personnel at Al-Assad and Irbil."

"We are working on initial battle damage assessments," the Pentagon went on saying.

There are reports about Iraqi casualties aftermath the Iranian attack.

The attack come after Iranian officials warned that they would strike US military targets in response to Major General Qassem Soleimani’s killing on Friday in Baghdad.

Al-Asad (Ain Al-Asad) is the second largest air base in Iraq, hosting Iraqi armed forces and United States armed forces base located in Al Anbar governorate.
