Eight people were killed in a gas explosion during a birthday party in the capital of Iran, Tehran.

Iranian news agency “ISNA” quoted the Red Crescent Society as saying that the blast was in a café which has gas-blowing balloons for celebration.

Four children between 3 and 6 years old and four adults were killed in the explosion.

The cause of the explosion has not been determined yet, but according to preliminary findings, a helium balloon burst into flames and triggered the tragic incident.

In the same vein, last month, two people were killed and 120 others were injured due to a fire caused by a gas cylinder blast in a restaurant in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

“According to the preliminary figures received from the site of the event in Khalidiya, Abu Dhabi, 64 people were injured with minor injuries, 56 others sustained moderate injuries, and two people died,” Abu Dhabi police said in a statement.

The police said that the injured were transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary health care, with material damage to shops and the facades of 6 buildings.
