The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has released a warning that nearly 4 million individuals in South Sudan have been forced to flee their homes due to the ongoing conflict.

According to the IOM's displacement matrix, the Sudanese army (SAF) and paramilitaries' clashes have resulted in over 926,000 people seeking refuge abroad, while 3 million people have been internally displaced.

The conflict has caused individuals to leave all of Sudan's 18 states, with the highest proportion of displaced people in River Nile State at 15%.

The IOM has noted that over two-thirds of the 926,841 people seeking refuge in neighboring countries are Sudanese nationals, while the remaining third comprised foreign nationals and returnees.

The IOM also expressed its concerns about the conditions of those seeking shelter in neighboring nations where displacement camps are overcrowded, and the rainy season makes relocation and aid deliveries difficult.
