In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population in Egypt (MoH), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) organized four capacity-building workshops for Egyptian doctors in Cairo and Alexandria.
According to IOM, the first workshop was directed to 36 Directors of chest hospitals and Quality teams in the chest hospitals on Quality & Risk Management in Alexandria.
The workshop was conducted by a team of doctors from the General Administration of chest diseases discussing Basic Quality Concepts, Strategic planning, the Difference between risk and crisis, and finally discussing different types of risk and how to deal with each of them.
Another workshop on Research Methods was organized for 33 doctors in Cairo.
The workshop was conducted by a team of professors from Cairo University discussing Types of Health Research, how to write a research proposal, and how to present data.
IOM also held two workshops on the principles of pulmonary medicine for 19 doctors in Cairo and 27 doctors in Alexandria.
These workshops were conducted by a team of doctors from the General administration of chest diseases discussing major pulmonary medicine topics such as: Pulmonary Embolism, TB Updates, HIV and TB, Obstructive Sleep Apnea Updates, pulmonary embolism, COPD, and other important discussions.
These activities were sponsored by the European Union under the “Regional Response to COVID-19 in North African Countries” program.
