Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr cast her vote in the constitutional amendments referendum 2019 eastern Cairo on Saturday.
In the 1st day of the public referendum, Nasr headed to her allocated ballot station and “took part in the voting process along with Egyptian youth and women,” according to a statement issued by the ministry.
“This is a national duty that all should respond to,” Nasr told reporters.

She added that participation in the referendum will be interpreted as walking on the correct path towards democracy and freedom of choice.
“I call on all Egyptians to take part in the referendum for a hope that achievements will be accomplished for a better Egypt and economy,” the minister noted.
Nasr praised the security measures taken by the police and armed forces during the voting process.
Egyptians voted on Saturday in a three-day referendum on constitutional changes that could allow President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to stay in office until 2030.

People carrying flags and wearing T-shirts saying "do the right thing" - the slogan plastered on thousands of posters across the capital ahead of the referendum - meanwhile campaigned for a Yes vote.
A double-decker bus blasting patriotic music circled around polling stations close to Cairo's Tahrir Square, the epicentre of the 2011 uprising that ended former President Hosni Mubarak's 30-year rule.
