The International Drums Festival's seventh edition rounded off with a remarkable festivity in which attendees rocked Al-Moez Ledin Allah Al Fatimi Street with Egypt's national anthem. The festival included a procession of performances by the various participating countries, showcasing arts and clothing heritage of their perse cultures. Hundreds of Egyptian and Arab audiences gather every year to celebrate this festivity, organized by Dr. Intisar Abdel Fattah, the founder of the festival.

“This year's festival in El Moez is considered the best compared to all previous editions,” said Abdel Fattah.

He expressed his happiness with the participation of the folk arts sector for the first time in Drums Festival, headed by Dr. Adel Abdo. All the entrants; the Reda Ensemble, the National Folklore Ensemble, the Folk Music Ensemble and the National Circus Arts, entertained the attendees with their influential shows.

Abdel Fattah added that the participation of African countries, a permanent guest of honor, this year is different, in relation to Egypt's presidency of the African Union and hosting the African Nations Cup.

"I promise you a memorial closing ceremony for the festival in conjunction with the celebration of Sinai, where I will make the world sing and dance for Sinai,” added Abdel-Fattah.

Moreover, Abdel-Fattah called on all the independent teams to join and cooperate, following the steps of “Cairo Band.”

"It is my duty to offer the opportunity to the talented people to present Egyptian folklore in all its forms.  The “S-Charisma Ensemble" is a good example. Thanks to their participation with us since the beginning of the festival.”

"We have expanded our outreach during the festival days to new areas such as the “Horeya Park” and the “Children and Civilization Center,” where we will hold a major art workshop for children and people with special needs on Thursday, April 25,” he said.

"The turnout was high despite the bad weather, and this is proof of the success of the festival; Egyptians are also waiting for it every year.

This year is the first time for "klaket" concerts are staged and there are new teams from Colombia and Poland.

"This festival is for the people and a tribute to the beautiful streets of Egypt; it is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture in all its sectors, the Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Promotion Authority," explained Abdel Fattah.

"We are steadfast in our goal and our fundamental principle in providing a message to the world through art and music," he concluded, affirming that Egypt is home to all cultures.
