The State Security Media Cell in Iraq announced today, Saturday, that the Iraqi forces received military equipment and devices from the international coalition, which began withdrawing its forces from the country.

And the cell issued a press statement saying that the international coalition completed the withdrawal of combatant units from the Iraqi territories.

A group of Iraqi advisers from the Military Technical Committee paid a visit to Ain Al-Assad Air Base in Anbar Governorate.

The committee visited the gathering of equipment and logistical support and conducted a field tour of the areas occupied by the international coalition forces.

It inspected some models of the mechanisms and technical devices that the international coalition forces began handing over to the Iraqi army, the Counter-Terrorism Service, and the Border Police Force Command.

The cell indicated that "the committee confirmed that the work of the remaining international coalition mission in Iraq is to provide advice, assistance, and empowerment to the Iraqi security forces."

On the other hand, the White House announced on the 12th of December that the US National Security Council’s coordinator for Middle East affairs, Brett McGurk, confirmed during his meeting with Iraqi officials in Baghdad that there are no US forces on combat missions in Iraq currently.

And the White House stated in a statement that "McGurk ended a two-day visit to Iraq, where he consulted with a group of political and security leaders and met with President Barham Salih, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and former Speaker of Parliament Muhammad Al-Halbousi, and also met with the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, and other senior leaders.

McGurk affirmed that US President Joe Biden’s commitment to the results of the strategic dialogue with the government of Iraq, stressing that "there are no longer American forces serving in a combat role in Iraq."
