Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, Minister of the Interior, visited Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria, Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, at St Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Abbasiya district of Cairo, to congratulate all Christian citizens on the occasion of the glorious Christmas celebration.
The Minister of Interior expressed his sincere congratulations on the occasion of Christmas.. praising the role of the Egyptian church in strengthening national unity, the unity and stability of the country, and spreading the values of tolerance among all the people of the country.
He also stressed that the Egyptian history has witnessed many facts and events that recorded the national positions of the Egyptian Church.
On his part, Pope Tawadros II praised the efforts and sacrifices made by the police for achieving security., stressing the solidarity and support of the people for the security services in performing their duties in order to achieve security and stability throughout the country.
