The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts extremely hot weather will prevail in most of the country during Thursday's daylight hours.

Hot weather is also expected to prevail in the North Coast.

The weather will seem hotter due to the high humidity levels, which will push up the heat index by 1-2 degrees.

The country also witnesses mist, extending into fog, on the agricultural and highway roads from the north of the country to Cairo, Canal Cities, Central Sinai, and North Upper Egypt.

There is a chance of rainfall prevailing intermittently in the Northwest Coast, Western Sahara, and the New Valley governorate.

Wind speeds between 30 and 35 kilometres per hour (km/h) are expected to occasionally occur across the country, stirring up sand and dust in the Red Sea governorate.

Furthermore, the Mediterranean Sea will experience low to moderate waves, ranging between 1.25 and 1 75 meters in height with northeast surface winds.

Waves in the Red Sea will be moderate to turbulent, ranging between 1.5 and 2.5 meters in height with northwest surface winds.

Moderate to moderately warm weather is also expected to prevail in Egypt at night, turning moderate in the early morning.

The predicted temperatures for the following cities are 36°C in Cairo, 31°C in Alexandria, 29°C in Marsa Matruh, 40°C in Sohag, 43°C in Qena, and 42°C in Aswan.
