Former U.S. President Barack Obama received criticism, on Sunday, following his birthday party bash, as no one complied with the Covid guidelines.
Obama turned sixty years old on Wednesday, and his family threw him a birthday party on the upscale island Martha's Vineyard.
Some pictures and videos from the bash have sparked a social media storm, as they showed the former president and his guests without a mask.
Twitter was abuzz with "Maskless Obama", "#ObamaVariant", "Obamas" and "Michelle" trending. So, here are the top highlights from the lavish party.
Obama Dances Maskless
One of the photos showed Obama boogieing on the dance floor without wearing a mask, a move which sparked fury among the social media users.

The leaked photos and videos sparked outrage, as the netizens were not pleased watching the former President, who has been supporting the Democrats over mask-on policies, without a mask.
Technically, the former president did not break any rule because the party was in his mansion, not a public place. Nevertheless, being a popular leader and supporter of policies on mandatory masks, people expected him to follow the regulations anyway.
Nancy Pelosi Skipping
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that she had better things to do than attend Obama’s extravagant 60th birthday celebration.
“I didn’t go. I had other parties to go to,” Pelosi replied when asked about the birthday bash on Martha’s Vineyard, according to the Daily Mail.
Pelosi had attended a church service Sunday morning and met with Kevin Blake, who was visiting the area from Connecticut.
Erykah Badu Having a Blast
The massive celebration went “on and on,” as guest Erykah Badu showed people on social media. Badu provided an inside look at the gathering hosted at the $11 million Martha’s Vineyard estate.

The R&B singer posted a video of Obama dancing with singer H.E.R. on her Instagram story. With his sleeves rolled up, he grooved with H.E.R. for a moment before giving her a hug.
John Legend & Chrissy Teigen Spotted At The Party
American singer John Legend and wife Chrissy Teigen were photographed arriving on Martha's Vineyard, as were Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, the New York Times reported. However, it's not known if they actually attended the bash.
The Times also revealed that Jay-Z and Beyoncé were still invited, while others like Democratic political operative David Axelrod, actor Larry David and former late-night talk show host David Letterman and Conan O'Brien didn't make the cut.
