Infographic | Egypt Expands Renewable Energy Drive to Meet Vision 2030 Goals

Egypt is accelerating its transition toward clean energy as it works to increase renewable energy's share to 42% of the country's total electricity generation capacity under Egypt Vision 2030, according to an infographic released by the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA), and the Cabinet. The infographic highlights the country's growing renewable energy portfolio, led by the 1.8-gigawatt Benban Solar Park, one of the world's largest solar power complexes, and more than 2 gigawatts of installed wind power capacity, with additional projects under development along the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez.

The infographic also points to billions of dollars in investments in solar, wind and green hydrogen projects through partnerships with leading international energy companies. Egypt aims to establish itself as a regional hub for the production and export of green hydrogen and its derivatives, while expanding clean energy exports, strengthening energy security, reducing carbon emissions and supporting sustainable economic development.
