Indonesian President Joko Widodo has expressed his support for peace efforts in Ukraine, stressing that Indonesia is ready to be a peace bridge between Russia and Ukraine.
This came during the bilateral meeting between Widodo and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which was held on the sidelines of the G7 summit in the Japanese city of Hiroshima on Sunday.
On his part, Widodo said he is following the situation in Ukraine, offering his condolences to the families of the war's victims.
On his part, Zelensky expressed appreciation for Indonesia's role in seeking a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.
In the meeting, the two leaders also discussed the importance of the world food supply chain, which also had been discussed during Jokowi's visit to Kyiv last year.
