The Vice Chairman of the First Committee of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sukamta, called on Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to demand an immediate end to all forms of violence in Palestine and to ensure maximum protection for Palestinian civilians. This call was made during a meeting of the Peace Council in the United States.
Sukamta stated that "stability and security are essential prerequisites for a sustainable peace process for the people of Gaza and Palestine," adding that the Indonesian government could leverage this momentum to reaffirm Indonesia's position as a nation that consistently strives for peace, justice, and humanity.
The Indonesian parliamentarian also urged his government to reiterate Indonesia's support for full Palestinian independence through a two-state solution, emphasizing that it is a just, dignified, and internationally compliant solution.
