Indonesia Suspends Using AstraZeneca Vaccine

On Sunday, Indonesian health authorities announced a temporary suspension of using the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to conduct more examinations of the vaccine's safety and side effects.

The authorities halting the distribution of a newly received vaccine batch that consists of 448,480 doses. The state will receive a total of 3.85 million doses.

It is still raising concerns amid the issue of blood clotting among adults. Moreover, several countries reported dozens of deaths and serious side effects in adults after receiving the vaccine such as Germany, Netherlands, Italy, and Canada.

Therefore, several states imposed restrictions for using the vaccine, in addition to replacing AstraZeneca with other vaccines such as Pfizer.
