An Indonesian humanitarian group has announced plans to deliver thousands of winter aid packages to civilians in Gaza as temperatures continue to drop and living conditions worsen.

The Tenth Emergency Medical Rescue Committee (MER-C) confirmed on Sunday that its emergency medical team is preparing extensive winter supplies for families across the Gaza Strip.

According to a statement reported by Indonesia’s Antara News Agency, MER-C volunteers have been coordinating with local partners to assemble the aid packages. The team includes dermatologist Nico Ganda, anesthesiologist Anton Firman Ritonja, and nurse Nadia Rosi.

Anton said the team intends to deliver the aid at the start of the winter season, emphasizing the urgent need for support as temperatures decline.

He added that the committee is committed to standing with the people of Gaza during the harsh winter months.

Ganda urged Indonesians to continue offering prayers and support to ensure that the humanitarian effort proceeds without disruption, noting that MER-C is one of the few organizations with consistent access to the Gaza Strip.

MER-C officials stated that the winter packages include 500 children’s jackets, 500 adult jackets, 500 blankets, and 100 tents.

The distribution plan comes amid deteriorating conditions in Gaza, where heavy rainfall has flooded shelters and caused tents to collapse, worsening the suffering of displaced residents.

MER-C is a humanitarian organization specializing in emergency medical assistance. It provides care for victims of war, conflict-related violence, civil unrest and natural disasters both in Indonesia and abroad.
