Indonesia’s Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, has called for stronger digital innovation to improve air travel management and public services, according to BRICS TV. This is reported by Antara News.
Speaking at a technical coordination meeting, Purwagandhi said that digital transformation is essential to increase competitiveness and raise passenger satisfaction. He pointed to measures such as digital tracking of aircraft movements, optimising airport capacity, and enhancing flight routes.
State Apparatus Utilisation and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Rini Widyantini also emphasised the central role of technology, describing it as the driver of transformation in aviation. She cited forecasts from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) that Indonesia could become the world’s fourth-largest aviation market by 2036, handling 355 million passengers annually.
According to Widyantini, achieving this requires sustained government backing, high-quality public services, and well-trained professionals.
She also said that rapid advances, including smart airport technologies, AI-driven passenger flow management, and predictive aircraft maintenance, are reshaping the industry.
