Indian FM: Glad to Meet FM Sameh Shoukry

The Indian Embassy in Cairo quoted the statements of Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar after meeting his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukery.

In a tweet, Jaishankar said: "Glad to meet FM Sameh Shoukry of Egypt. Welcomed his participation in the G20 meeting yesterday."

"Our discussions focused on follow-up to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s successful visit in January 2023."

Jaishankar praised Egyptian-Indian relations, noting that there are directives from the Indian Prime Minister to continue advancing bilateral relations between the two countries at various levels.

Notably, the two ministers exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, including the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and the food and climate change crises.
