The Embassy of India will organise a Beach Clean-up Campaign at Sharm El- Sheikh on 21 May 2023 at 7:00 AM as a part of Beach Cleaning drives in G20 countries and the Guest Countries as an outcome of India's G20 Presidency. This Beach Clean-up activity will be organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Egypt at Rixos beach or Nabq beach, Sharm El-Sheikh.
During the G20 presidency, India has organized many events and invited Egypt. Egypt has actively participated in all these events as India has invited Egypt to take part in the G20 Summit as a “Guest Country” during its presidency of the G20 summit.
The objective of the campaign is to harness the power of world's largest economies and to draw global attention to the problem of litter, especially marine plastic litter and its impact on seas and oceans and also to create strong public engagement on the issue of beach and marine litter.
Under this campaign, following activities will be conducted as beach clean exercise, community run for clean beach, signature campaigning, yoga on beach, pledge by the beach users etc.
