India has advised its citizens to leave Iran as tensions escalate over potential U.S. military action against Tehran, according to a statement released Monday by the Indian Embassy in Tehran.

In a notice shared on social media, the embassy said, “In view of the evolving situation in Iran, Indian nationals currently in Iran are advised to leave through available means, including commercial flights.”

The advisory comes amid growing concerns about possible U.S. strikes on Iran. The embassy estimates that approximately 10,000 Indian nationals are currently residing in the country.

Iran on Monday warned that it would consider any American attack, even limited strikes, as “aggression” requiring a response. The warning followed remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, who said he was considering such an option.

Speaking at his weekly press conference, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated, “Regarding the question about a limited strike, there is no such thing as a limited strike. Any aggression will be considered aggression,” according to Agence France-Presse.

The developing situation has heightened security concerns in the region, prompting India’s precautionary move to safeguard its citizens. Officials have urged Indian nationals in Iran to monitor official updates and make travel arrangements as soon as possible.
