India has reaffirmed its full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.

According to the Somali National News Agency (SONNA) on Saturday, this position was announced during a press conference held by the spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal.

During the briefing, Jaiswal expressed India's refusal to recognize the Israeli acknowledgment of the Somaliland administration.

Moreover, he emphasized the depth and strength of the historical ties between Somalia and India, underscoring the vital importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.

Somalia expressed its deep gratitude and appreciation to the countries and regional and international bodies that stood responsibly by Somalia's sovereignty and national unity, contributing to thwarting Israel's attempts to recognize the so-called "Somaliland" administration.

The Somali Presidency stated, in a communique reported by the Somali National News Agency on Thursday, that this responsible international stance embodies the international community's commitment to the principles of international law and the UN Charter, particularly the respect for state sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference in internal affairs.
