The Ambassador of India to Egypt H.E. Shri Ajit Gupte stressed his country's firm commitment to achieving a peaceful and lasting solution to the Israel-Palestine issue.
According to Mr. Gupte, Indian Prime Minister Shari Narendra Modi affirmed the need to create conditions for peace and restart direct and meaningful peace negotiations.
The Indian Amb. expressed deep shock at the tragic loss of lives at Gaza hospitals, where several hundreds of civilian casualties have occurred and thousands injured, adding that unfolding humanitarian crises need to be addressed.
"India believes that the concerns of the Palestinians must be dressed in a serious and sustainable manner. This can only happen with a two-state solution that is passed on peaceful co-existence. India has been consistently supportive of international efforts towards this end," said Mr. Gupte.
He also mentioned that India welcomed all efforts of regional and global players aimed towards restoring normalcy.
