India Participates in Egypt’s Pharmaconex 2019

The Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) is participating in Egypt’s Pharmaconex 2019, showcasing products from 26 companies. 

The Asian giant’s presence at the exhibition is aimed to strengthen bilateral trade and enhance investment ties in between both countries. 

The pavilion was inaugurated by Dr. Tamer Essam, Deputy Egyptain Health Minister inaugurated along with India’s Ambassador to Egypt Mr. Rahul Kulshreshth in the attendence of represenatives of Pharmexcil.

India’s pharmaceutical industry is globally recognized as the “Pharmacy of the World,” thanks to its contribution in almost all types of dosage forms. 

In the year 2017-2018, as per a statement issued by the Indian Embassy In Cairo,  India’s pharmaceutical exports tuned at $17.3 billions. The country is also the world’s largest generics provider with a share of 20%. 

Out of the total exports, Egypt imported pharmaceutical products worth $113.43 millions. 

“The exports of bulk drugs and intermediates were to the tune of $85.65 millions,” the statement said. 

Owing to the huge technological potential in India, several MNCs have Launches their Research and Development (R&D) Centers for scientists to do cost-effective research for new molecules. 

Likewise, contract research and manufacturing activities (CRAMS) are worthwhile and highly pursued in India. 

Pharmaconex 2019 is organized at Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) from 6-8 April. 

This year, the exposition hosts over 150 exhibitors and focuses on pharmaceutical production, water treatment, Human Resources and much more relevant topics.
