Indian authorities said that at least 22 people died due to suspected heatstroke in three eastern states of the country, while the region is witnessing a severe heat wave that is expected to continue until tomorrow.
Ten people, including six women, died of suspected heatstroke within seven hours in Odisha state, nine died in Bihar state within the past 24 hours, and three died in Jharkhand state within the past 36 hours.
Authorities said that the states of Bihar and Odisha are facing a severe heat wave that is expected to continue until Saturday.
In Nagpur, the bodies of at least 20 unidentified people were found between May 24 and 30.
