A study showed that more than 10 million adults in the United Kingdom (UK) are currently unable to pay bills with the high cost of living due to factors such as inflation, as some have resorted to reducing food expenses and canceling insurance policies to get by, the British newspaper "The Independent" reported.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) found that the number of financial problems has grown by 3.1 million since May 2022 to now represent one in five of the population.
The regulator spoke to people in their survey who were forced to take measures such as using savings to fill their tank, using credit to pay for food purchases, canceling insurance, quitting gym memberships, and eating less.
