In Pics: Swedish Embassy in Cairo Celebrates ‘’Sweden Day’’

The Embassy of Sweden in Cairo and the Swedish Business Community celebrated Sweden Day under the theme “Swedish Business – Pioneering the Possible”.

The event was attended by Egyptian officials, the diplomatic community, politicians, civil society and Sweden’s friends and partners in Egypt. It included an exhibition where 13 leading Swedish companies presented their latest innovations, products, and services, allowing guests to experience their offerings first-hand.

The exhibition showcased how Swedish companies have integrated sustainability into their business practices and how sustainability can be leveraged as a competitive advantage and lead the economy towards a green recovery.

“I am proud that some of the largest and most successful multinational Swedish companies are established in Egypt, creating thousands of jobs in the local market and working to promote Swedish values such as sustainability and innovation.”, said Swedish Ambassador to Cairo Håkan Emsgård.

It is worth noting that Swedish companies have invested significant amounts in Egypt over the last few years.

Meanwhile, more than 30 Swedish companies are active in Egypt, creating more than 15,000 jobs and contributing to exports and the growth of the Egyptian economy.

Sweden Day celebration was organized in collaboration with the following Swedish companies; ABB, AstraZeneca, Atlas Copco, Electrolux, Gamma Knife Center, Hitachi Energy, IKEA, Nordic Water, Oriflame, Swedish Group, Tetra Pak, Volvo Cars and Xylem.
