In Pics: Sisi, Qatar's Emir Hold Talks

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Saturday with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on the sidelines of Baghdad Conference, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

"Sisi affirmed Egypt's keenness on integrated and fruitful cooperation for the sake of good, construction, and development, and supporting Arab solidarity in a framework of mutual respect, common interest, and sincere intentions, as a principle and a well-established strategic approach to Egyptian policy," said Rady.

On his part, the Emir of Qatar expressed his appreciation for the positive developments taking place in the Egyptian-Qatari relations, hailing the recent exchange of visits and the resumption of cooperation frameworks between the two countries.

Moreover, he reaffirmed Qatar's aspiration to enhance discussions with Egypt to boost bilateral relations and to serve the aspirations of the two countries especially in light of the strategic and pivotal role that Egypt plays under the leadership of President Sisi in order to consolidate security, stability and development at the regional level and within the framework of defending the issues of the Arab nation.

Rady noted that the two leaders agreed on the importance of continuing consultation and working to advance relations between the two countries during the next stage, as well as the continuation of mutual steps with the aim of resuming various mechanisms of bilateral cooperation, in line with the progress witnessed by the course of the Egyptian-Qatari relations within the framework of what was stipulated in Al-Ola statement.
