President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inspected, on Friday, the projects of developing the network of hubs and roads of the North Coast and axes linking it to the cities and governorates of Cairo and the Delta, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
The inspection tour included the ongoing development of the 160 km Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road to become 8 traffic lanes in each direction, as well as the development of El-Dabaa axis with a length of 260 km to become 8 traffic lanes in each direction.
The construction works also include developing and raising the efficiency of the international coastal road to Al-Alamein Airport, and developing and raising the efficiency of Wadi El-Natrun Al-Alamein road with a length of 130 km to become 8 traffic lanes in each direction.
In this regard, Sisi stressed that the process of developing axes and roads in the northern coast, as well as its southern sector, be carried out to become lifelines that integrate with the huge national projects underway in that region, such as the New Delta Project for Agricultural Production, the new city of El Alamein, the Dabaa station, the El Alamein Airport, Ras El Hekma, and the tourist resorts extending to Matrouh Governorate.
These projects aim to accommodate the traffic and commercial traffic that is expected to increase as a result of the comprehensive development witnessed by that geographical part of the Republic.
