Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with his Cypriot counterpart Nikos Christodoulides in Athens late Friday following a quadrilateral meeting with French and Greek Foreign Ministers.
The two ministers discussed promoting bilateral relations and "ways to build on the results of the High Committee meeting which was held on the level of the two Presidents in Cairo last Sep," Ahmed Hafez, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Twitter.
After concluding the quadrilateral meeting in Athens, the four ministers held a press conference where Shoukry stressed Egypt's efforts to reach a binding agreement on the GERD that would achieve the interests of all parties.
On his part, Christodoulides said he briefed his Greek, Egyptian and French counterparts on Turkey's provocations and violations to his country. He also stressed the importance of the Middle East and the Gulf to Europe's security.
