Under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Egypt airlifted medical aid to Somalia as a continuation of Cairo's unwavering support and solidarity with the brotherly and friendly countries in various trials and tribulations.

Hence, two military planes, loaded with tons of medical and pharmaceutical aid, departed Egypt for Somalia.
"This aid is provided by the Ministry of Health and Population to help alleviate the burden on the people of Somalia," Military Spokesperson Colonel Gharib Abdel Hafiz tweeted on Saturday.
The Somali side expressed deep thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by the Arab Republic of Egypt and the support it provides to the Somali people. The Somali officials also stressed that this aid reflects the spirit of brotherhood and the joint cooperation between the two brotherly peoples.
This aid is an affirmation of the historical ties between Egypt and Somalia and is prompted by Cairo's pioneering role toward the African countries in various circumstances and its full support and solidarity with them.
